Covid cases and deaths today: coronavirus UK map 2020

Since 31 December 2019 and as of 19 November 2020, 56 368 586 cases of COVID-19 (in accordance with the applied case definitions and testing strategies in the affected countries) have been reported, including 1 350 713 deaths.

Africa: 2 014 654 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are South Africa (757 144), Morocco (306 995), Egypt (111 613), Ethiopia (103 928) and Tunisia (83 772).

Asia: 14 697 971 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are India (8 958 483), Iran (801 894), Iraq (526 852), Indonesia (478 720) and Bangladesh (438 795).

America: 24 158 889 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are United States (11 529 807), Brazil (5 945 849), Argentina (1 339 324), Colombia (1 218 003) and Mexico (1 015 071).

Europe: 15 447 218 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are France (2 065 138), Russia (2 015 608), Spain (1 525 341), United Kingdom (1 430 341) and Italy (1 272 352).

Oceania: 49 158 cases; the five countries reporting most cases are Australia (27 777), French Polynesia (12 587), Guam (6 346), New Zealand (1 654) and Papua New Guinea (604).

Other: 696 cases have been reported from an international conveyance in Japan.

Africa: 48 418 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are South Africa (20 556), Egypt (6 495), Morocco (5 013), Tunisia (2 541) and Algeria (2 206).

Asia: 256 084 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are India (131 578), Iran (42 941), Indonesia (15 503), Iraq (11 795) and Philippines (7 957).

America: 691 579 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are United States (250 537), Brazil (167 455), Mexico (99 528), Argentina (36 347) and Peru (35 402).

Europe: 353 520 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are United Kingdom (53 274), Italy (47 217), France (46 698), Spain (42 039) and Russia (34 850).

Oceania: 1 105 deaths; the five countries reporting most deaths are Australia (907), Guam (100), French Polynesia (62), New Zealand (25) and Papua New Guinea (7).

Other: 7 deaths have been reported from an international conveyance in Japan.

NOTE:

On 2 October 2020, authorities in Ireland retrocorrected the total number of COVID-19 deaths leading to a negative value for the deaths reported on 3 October 2020.

On 10 September 2020, Jersey reclassified nine cases as old infections resulting in negative cases reported on 11 September 2020.

As of 7 September 2020, there is a negative number of cumulative cases in Ecuador due to the removal of cases detected from rapid tests. In addition, the total number of reported COVID-19 deaths has shifted to include both probable and confirmed deaths, which lead to a steep increase on the 7 September.

From end of August 2020, Swedish authorities are performing daily data consolidation leading to data retro-corrections. From week 38, the Swedish Public Health Agency will update COVID-19 daily data four times per week on Tuesday–Friday. Hence, the cumulative figures and related outputs include cases and deaths from the previous 14 days with available data at the time of data collection.
